1. Notification Release:
SSC (Staff Selection Commission) releases the official notification for SSC CGL exam on their website and in leading newspapers.
2. Application Process:
- Visit the SSC official website (ssc.nic.in) and navigate to the SSC CGL section.
- Fill out the application form online during the specified dates.
- Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature as per the specified guidelines.
- Pay the application fee online through net banking, credit/debit card, or offline through SBI bank challan.
3. Admit Card:
- Download the admit card from the SSC website approximately 2-3 weeks before the exam date.
- Admit card will contain details of the exam venue, date, and time.
4. Examination:
- SSC CGL exam is conducted in four tiers:
- Tier-I: Computer Based Examination (Objective Multiple Choice).
- Tier-II: Computer Based Examination (Objective Multiple Choice).
- Tier-III: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi).
- Tier-IV: Computer Proficiency Test/Skill Test (wherever applicable)/Document Verification.
5. Result Declaration:
- SSC announces results for each tier on their website after completion of the respective examinations.
6. Document Verification:
- Candidates who qualify in Tier-III and Tier-IV (where applicable) are called for document verification.
- Original documents are verified, and candidates may be asked to submit photocopies.
7. Final Selection:
- Final selection is based on the cumulative performance in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III (Tier-IV is qualifying in nature).
- A merit list is prepared based on which candidates are allotted different posts as per their preferences and merit rank.
8. Joining:
- Candidates who are selected are issued joining letters.
- Joining letters specify the reporting date, joining location, and other relevant details.
- Candidates must report to the designated office/location on the specified date with all necessary documents (original and photocopies)
